Recap · Harmonies for Health: A Night to Remember

On Saturday, September 12th, we celebrated our 15th anniversary at Harmonies for Health, our signature benefit concert, a night of live Miami music, community celebration, and inaugural awards. Every ticket and dollar raised went directly to UHP's Partners for Change Fund.

We were also deeply honored to receive a proclamation from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, presented by Michelle Johnson of the Office of the Mayor, celebrating UHP's 15 years of impact.

The evening was hosted by Sandra Peebles, a bilingual TV and radio journalist and 14-time Emmy Award winner known to South Florida audiences from her years at Univision 23 and NBC 6.

Live Music Lineup

Suenafro: Urban genre-blending electro-Latin funk featuring members of Suenalo, a 20+ year Miami institution.

The Lab: Raw, high-voltage Miami rock energy that left the crowd wanting one more song.

Miamibloco: Miami's homegrown NPO samba percussion and dance ensemble, turning the venue into one unstoppable rhythm.

A special shout-out to Ellie Lei, one of UHP's own Community Liaisons, who took the stage and sang beautifully.

At our inaugural Partners for Change Awards, we recognized the organizations, businesses, and individuals turning up alongside UHP to build a healthier South Florida.

Bridge Builder Award: Individual Partner

Honoree: Patrick "Pat" Morris

Urban Health Partnerships recognized Pat Morris for his long-standing contributions to the health and prosperity of the Miami-Dade community, honored as the connector, dedicated organizer, master collaborator, and champion he is on a daily basis.

Pat's career spans three decades of community and civic engagement work, from his early volunteer roles with New York Cares and a D.C. soup kitchen, to coordinating volunteer relief efforts after Hurricane Andrew, to helping grant more than thirty Make-A-Wish requests for children in New York and South Florida. After moving to Miami in 1990, he co-founded Hands On Miami and later served as its CEO, mobilizing thousands of volunteers across the region. He went on to hold senior leadership roles at the YMCA of Greater Miami and as Community Affairs Officer for Wells Fargo, where he directed philanthropic giving to local causes. Today, he serves as Director of Civic & Philanthropic Partnerships in Miami-Dade County's Office of the Mayor, connecting government, business, and the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.

It was through Pat's relentless support, vision, and encouragement that the Food and Nutrition for All Collaborative (FNFA) launched in Miami-Dade County and has grown into the widespread, impactful initiative it is today. Pat was also instrumental in helping establish the Zero Drowning initiative.

Roots of Change Award: Community Organization

Presented to a community-based organization whose grassroots work has helped strengthen a South Florida neighborhood from the inside out.

Honoree: Healthy Little Havana

Healthy Little Havana has embodied a resident-driven, collective impact approach since before it even officially became a nonprofit, bringing together technical and lived experience experts to address the most pressing needs of the community they cherish and champion.

As the first external implementers of UHP's Community Liaison Framework, Healthy Little Havana has invested in the long-term infrastructure of a truly community-led movement. Healthy Little Havana is more than an organization, it's a movement. By amplifying community voices, fostering resilience, and driving meaningful change, HLH is transforming Little Havana into a healthier, more accessible place for all.

Partner in Action Award: Corporate or Foundation Partner

Presented to a business or foundation that has shown up as a true partner, not just a funder, through hands-on engagement, employee involvement, and a genuine investment in the community's priorities.

Honoree: Anthony Olivieri, FHEED LLC

As the founder and owner of FHEED, Anthony has played a transformative role in how we understand the role of "place" in influencing health, closing gaps in community health outcomes, and planning for livable communities for everyone.

Whether the issue is food access, urban planning, chronic disease, or maternal health, Anthony has helped government, healthcare, and community agencies drive collaborative, community-driven processes that turn data into action. FHEED is grounded in the belief that healthy food is a fundamental human right and that communities should have the power to shape their own food systems.

Community Voice Award

Recognizes a community leader, resident, volunteer, or advocate whose work has consistently made a real difference, someone who may never ask for recognition but has earned it.

Honoree: Earline Hayes, Florida Impact

Nominated by the community, for the community, the inaugural Community Voice Award recognized a leader whose work has consistently made a real difference, someone who may never ask for recognition but has certainly earned it. This award was announced as a surprise on the night of the event and went to Earline Hayes of Florida Impact, honored for her tireless dedication to the community she serves.

Founders Recognition

The evening also included a dedicated moment honoring UHP co-founders Anamarie Ferreira De Melo and Isabel Rovira, whose vision in 2011 launched 15 years of community-driven work across South Florida.

UHP hosted Get Moving Miami Gardens, a free, community-centered health and wellness day with a walking audit that brought together hundreds of residents, partners, and stakeholders to assess neighborhood conditions, participate in health-focused activities, and shape practical solutions. The event marked 15 years of UHP’s work across South Florida and 13 years of partnership with Miami Gardens residents, local leaders, and community partners to improve health, walkability, and quality of life in the community.
