Urban Health Partnerships Selected for Florida Blue Foundation’s 2025 Food Security Cohort
Miami, FL – September 24, 2025
Urban Health Partnerships (UHP) is proud to be one of eight organizations across Florida awarded funding through the Florida Blue Foundation’s 2025 Food Security cohort. This investment supports UHP’s Cultivating Wellness program, which connects residents with meals, health screenings, and care navigation in accessible community spaces such as grocery stores, gardens, parks, and Food as Medicine outreach hubs.
Food access is essential for building healthier communities. With this support, UHP will expand local solutions that increase availability of nutritious food and help improve long-term health outcomes for Miami-Dade residents. This initiative builds on the cohort’s multi-year effort to support food security, improve chronic condition management, and strengthen local food systems.
“Food is the foundation of health, and yet, far too many individuals and families in Florida struggle to access the nutritious food they need,” said Susan Towler, executive director of the Florida Blue Foundation. “By partnering with organizations on the front lines of this issue, we are working together to extend their reach, deepen their impact, and increase access to the healthy foods families need to thrive.”
The Cultivating Wellness program is made possible through the collaboration of UHP and its community partners: Broward Community and Family Health Centers, Inc. (BCOM), EatWell Exchange, The Humanity Project, and the Urban Farming Institute.
UHP is honored to join this group of grantees advancing community-driven food access solutions across Florida.
